Adolescence Awareness on Reproductive Health

Adolescence Awareness on Reproductive Health

Adolescents comprise about a fifth of India’s population, and it needs to recognize as a target of any strategy for development in the country. Adolescent reproductive health needs are poorly understood and ill served in India. The adolescent girls particularly are at high risk of getting RTI/STD’s by sexual activity during adolescence, cancer of the uterine cervix, anaemia, and mental and behavioural disorder. Girls need scientific information regarding growing up problems, menstruation, human reproduction and human sexual behaviour. To educate adolescent girls and boys, on their anatomy and physiology, including information on changes in puberty, menstruation. Therefore  under this programme the reproductive health services for adolescents are particularly focused in rural areas where adolescence early marriages and pregnancies are widely prevalent. During our programme we focused on the following facts:

  • Training for women’ s anatomy
  • Training/awareness on reproductive health
  • Training/awareness on mother and child health
  • Training/awareness of adolescence on HIV/AIDS
  • Training/awareness on environmental hygiene and sanitation

Awareness today builds a healthier tomorrow, and informed choices begin with education—making awareness the need of the hour. Reproductive health is everyone’s right. Every teen deserves the truth about their bodies; they must learn to say yes to health and no to stigma. To break the silence, we must start the conversation. We invite you to support this mission—your donation of ₹10,000 for each program can help us conduct these vital awareness sessions.
